8 Usability Check-Points You Should Be Aware Of

1. You don’t use pop-ups.
Pop-ups interrupt the browsing session of the visitors and require an instant feedback. Respect your visitors.

You don’t change users’ window size.
The same argument as the one against pop-ups holds. Some browsers, e.g. Internet Explorer, saves the browser dimensions and uses them for further browser sessions. As Ben Bodien commented, “it’s just plain inconsiderate to assume that you know better than the user how their software environment should be configured?”

You don’t use too small font sizes.
Long passages are harder to read, and to read brief sentences readers need more time. It holds also for links, buttons, forms, search boxes and other elements. Good news — in Web 2.0 the opposite is the case.

You don’t have unclear link text.
Links have to be precise and lead to the destination they describe. Ambiguous link descriptions should be avoided.

You don’t have dead links.
There are too many of them anyway; why would you want to point your visitors to a dead end?

You have at most one animation per page.
If blinking images are wide-spread through the site, it’s extremely hard to focus on one single site element. Give your visitors an opportunity to perceive your content. Using animated ads, don’t place them right along your articles.

You make it easy to contact you.
Maybe because you just don’t want to be contacted, but If visitors do want to get in touch with you, but can’t find any contact information, you lose their interest and trust. Disastrous for online-shopping, a missed opportunity for the rest.

Your links open in the same window.
Visitors want to have control over everything what happens in their browser. If they’d like to open a link in a new window they will. If they don’t want to, they won’t. If your links open in a new window you make the decision which is not your decision to make.

Web proposal and concept for UDM(Universiti Darul Iman).. for some reason I just want to compare my design with the current UDM's Website..

Ulasan: Konsep ini direka pada 2008 (Rasanya kalu buat pada 2010 sure lagi mantop..:P), Jika dilihat UDM perlu memperbaiki beberpa part supaya lebih mudah untuk digunakan...

Berikut adalah perkara yang perlu diberi perhatian oleh perngurusan web UDM
1. Target user
Setiap universiti ada beberapa target iaitu, pihak luar, student, bekas studi(sekiranya alummai mereka aktif), pengurusan dan kakitangan pangajar... setiap user ini perlu di pecahkan bagi memudahkan mereka cari apa yang perlu mereka cari..
Dalam design UDM skrg.. mereka meletakan pada bahagian information, manakala saya telah asingkan by user... bukan kepada fungsi.. nanti saya terangkan mengapa...

Terfikir gak... cam ner nk dapt client terutama dalam membuat design website, berikut adalah pekara yang perlu di titik beratkan

1. hubungan baik dengan client
2. design yang menarik
3. harga (lagi murah lagi bagus, (kat Malaysia art & design & IT is nothing)
4. Kroni??
5. Ex-Client yang datang balik nk buat redesign(jaga client baik punya)

p/s: gambar web proposal yg sy design.. namum gagal dipilih, munkin design dier kurang menarik?hehhehe.. dari web yg ada skrg.. :P

Toursim Terengganu

Kerja Lama tp ia sesuatu yg menarik.. di sini untuk mengahasil sebuah laman web kita perlu saling mempercayai kepakaran masing... In the end suatu portal yang masih wujud sampai skrg...Saya proud kerana terlibat dengan projek ini...=)

Cume tu ler... sy masih tidak berpuas hati dengan design yg dicipta oleh sy.. kerana macam x berapa cun..kerna masih banyk boleh diperbaiki...
namum ia boleh dibanggakan kerana ada org indon cakap ia cun..hahha perasan sungguh...=P

Expolore Race: Redah Je..

current project: EPIC REDAH JE (Expolore race).. date: 29 Jan 2010
Role: Committee Member of Activity...(heheh created IQ and EQ questions)

participant: 90 cars. Each cars have 4 member. Total 360 people
Key task(for participants): to finish all the challenges for Kemamam, Terengganu to Summerset Resort Rompin, Pahang...(treasure hunt + Explore race + Amazing Race + Fear Factor + IQ + EQ + stamina + math???hehhee)

The Latest Project: EPIC Cares: Back to School
Type: CSR
Task: head project coordinator

Projek yang bakal berlangsung esok hari(17/12/2009) di mesra mall, kerteh/kemasik. melibatkan staf2 EPIC dan pelajar2 Kampung Payoh (yg kurang berupaya). dalam projek ini ia melibatkan program dimana staff EPIC sebanayk 20 org akan menjadi fasilitator kepada pelajar2 seramai 40 org untuk SHOPPING!!!!...(gambar akan diupload selepas event esok)

ANIM@ter adalah suatu program yg diilhamkan oleh kerajaan negeri Terengganu, untuk melahirkan bakat bakat dalam bidang animasi.Projek ini dikendalikan oleh EPICT Sdn Bhd(Syarikat previous sy, dan juga anak syarikat kepada EPIC). Sekali lagi saya terlibat secara tidak langsung. Ia melibatkan kerja kerja branding indentiti seperti penciptaan logo dan hala tuju serta promosi yang mahu dibawah untuk ANIM@ter.. Sayang sekali projek ini, tidak mendapat sokongan hebat dari EPIC. Ini mungkin ia tidak mendapat pulangan yg tinggi untuk jangka masa pendek.

Semasa Event Family day.. slalunya T-shirt menjadi element utama.. jadi untuk program yg lepas sy paparkan rekaan t-shirt yg telah diluluskn untuk diguna pakai.


akan tetap setiap yg direka tidak dapat dipenuhi oleh pembuat t-shirt.. jadi hasil akhirnya seperti dibawah.
p/s: moral of the story, jangan percaya pada pembuat t-shirt, yang mengatakan semua boleh ketika mahu dapatkan project =P
